New Geneva Launches Its On Campus Facility

On September 30th2011 New Geneva launched its educational facility with an open house to the community and interested parties.  New Geneva is a Christian Leadership College conferring 1, 2, and 4 year degrees in Applied Theology, targeting various majors and a seminary school in Reformed and Theonomic studies.

New Geneva’s goal is to equip students with the necessary academic tools so that they are able to logically apply those things learned in the real world. Without the application of God’s Law-Word to the culture, academics are a simple head scratching without any teeth behind it for cultural dominion. Thus, New Geneva is more than a Bible College; it is a Leadership Academy.

Among the many tracts of study New Geneva offers courses in Theology, Biblical Law, Constitutional Law, Constitutional Philosophy, Political Philosophy, Basic Philosophy, Art, Music, Science & Engineering, Apologetics, Worldview studies, Government studies, Education, Economics, Literature, Counseling, Communication, Christian character, History, an internship program and an art guild affiliation. The Ambassador’s School is New Geneva’s internship program and the Bezaleel Art Project is Geneva’s art guild.

All course tracts are tailored especially for each individual student which enables the student to get the most out of his or her studies. Most importantly New Geneva’s price structure is geared toward families who want a superior Christian education without the exorbitant price tag.

On Campus Or Correspondence

Although the majority of Geneva’s courses can be taken correspondence, or via video feed, there are those that wish to attend Geneva for a season depending on their schedule. Once on campus the student can share in a small college atmosphere, and one on one interaction with the professors and staff. Of the many benefits of on campus visitation, the facility houses a theological library of over 30,000 books, pdf documents, seminary lectures, and videos for the serious student, along with an art studio/gallery, music room, study and lecture halls, a microfiche viewing room, and a café complete with WiFi accessibility and a theological bookstore. All of these are accessible to our on campus students.

The Lounge & Study Area

While relatively small, equipped with WiFI accessibility, the downstairs lounge hosts a book store and café type setting for fellowship and study for both the student and the community. For a more secluded study atmosphere Geneva’s study hall and library are perfect settings for research, study and reading.

The Library and Microfiche Viewing Room

While Geneva’s library hosts over 30,000 books, documents, pdf , MP3 lectures and videos and is without a doubt the serious student’s dream, the Microfiche viewing room unique. With 5 full screen viewers this room houses thousands of primary source materials of the colonial era from 1600 to 1820 including all of New England’s Newspapers from the Puritan & Revolutionary period. This resource is priceless for the serious researcher.

The Art Studio

Of course God’s world includes His Glorious Creation. Art, therefore, must reflect the Master Artist or it is not really art. Geneva’s art courses teach and equip talented students to express the Glory of God in their artwork as a repudiation statement against the postmodern nonsense we see in the world of today.

The Music Course Tract

Geneva’s music tract teaches both the philosophy behind music from a Biblical viewpoint but also conducts chorale singing in English and other languages as well.

Modular Students

Students can remain on campus for any length of time. New Geneva does not have dorms but will assist in housing arrangements as needed.

Help Support New Geneva's Research Library

In August of this year – God willing – the New Geneva Christian Leadership Academy will open its doors to offer its Theological Book Store and Research Library for the community of Appomattox, Virginia and surrounding areas.

The Campus Library will offer a scholarly atmosphere where serious students can relax, study, fellowship, converse, and engage in mind bending research using Geneva’s more than 50,000 resources.

Included among these resources is a comprehensive series of micro fiche documents from the American Puritan and Colonial era of 1600 through the post War era of the 1800’s. With 5 micro fiche viewers located in a private setting these primary resources are invaluable for students, teachers and series researchers alike. Along with a series of specialty courses and lectures for Jr. High, High School and College ages, the library will also offer special membership options, WiFi availability, coffee, snacks and drinks.

Our goal has almost been met for the completion of this project but we need your assistance to finalize some small details.

We are still in need of 25 padded folding chairs for one of our lecture halls. The cost $375 @ $15/chair. These will be used for our youth chorale where instructor Meghan Coviello will be teaching the art, skill and beauty of singing for the Glory of God.

We also need to complete our Art Studio/Gallery where Jane Raymond will be hosting various classes and community art exhibitions in order to teach what God’s view of art really is. In association with the Bezaleel Art Project art guild, Mrs. Raymond seeks to reignite the concept of God as the Master Artist for all to witness.  At present we need to complete one sheetrock wall which will require spackle and paint. We also need Rubbermaid cabinets for artist supplies, artist easels and a variety of basic supplies. The total of this is approx $600.

The greatest of needs comes by the way of promotion. We must promote this project. This will be done as inexpensively as possible via press releases, magazine write-ups and small newspaper and magazine ads.

Please consider making a donation to the Institute for Theonomic Reformation [ITR] on behalf of the New Geneva as the ITR is the parent nonprofit company of the College and is its sole supporter in this most important work.

Together we can press forth the Crown Rights of Christ, the King, in every area of life.

Donations are tax deductible and can be made via paypal at www.hisglory.us or by check to:  ITR  P.O. Box 778 Appomattox VA 24522

Thank your for your prayers and support.

Online Courses I teach at The New Geneva Christian Leadership Academy

Online enrollment is open for the following online courses that I teach at The New Geneva Christian Leadership Academy:

This course focuses on the categorization and understanding of various passages in the Bible related to civil government and society.  As such students will immerse themselves in various resources relevant to this topic, including Daniel F. N. Ritchie’s in-depth volume, “A Conquered Kingdom: Biblical Civil Government.”

Requirements:
Students must show an in-depth understanding of the material presented and be able to accurately discuss and apply the details of systematic theonomy.  This will entail a series of well-written works, including works on applying theonomic principles to concerns of modern America (e.g., terrorism, war, socialized medicine, international relations, immigration, traffic laws), as well as a final paper describing the ideal America from a theonomic perspective.

This course focuses on defending Christianity against attacks from all other philosophies and religions.  As such students will be trained to think presuppositionally by making the Bible the starting point of their defense and learning to refute non-Chrisitan worldviews by conducting an internal critique of their first principles.  Students will learn from two of the most able defenders of the faith, Greg L. Bahnsen and Vincent Chueng.

Requirements: Students must show an in-depth understanding of the material presented and produce a series of well-written works accurately applying presuppositional apologetics.  In addition, students will write a final paper applying presuppositionalism to refute one of the following worldviews:  Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Roman Catholicism, or a false-Christian cult (e.g., Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witness).

This course focuses on the impact of the Reformation on Western social and legal traditions.  Texts include Douglas F. Kelly’s “The Emergence of Liberty in the Modern World,” David W. Hall’s “The Genevan Reformation and the American Founding,” Harold J. Berman’s “Law and Revolution II,” and Nathaniel S. McFetridge’s “Calvinism in History: A Political, Moral and Evangelizing Force.” By the end of the course students should have a thorough understanding of the Reformation’s transformative effect on Western civilization.

Requirements:
Students must show an in-depth understanding of the material presented and produce a series of well-written works demonstrating their understanding of the course material.  In addition, students will be assigned a final paper about a specific area that the Reformation has had a positive effect on Western civilization.

Geneva Christian Academy

"Geneva Christian Academy is committed to the Bible as in the inspired word of God. We believe that in Christ Jesus are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3), and, therefore, education must proceed in the fear of the Lord and rejection of human wisdom as a sufficient foundation for understanding (Proverbs 1:7).
"We teach each subject area from the perspective of God’s word, interact with opposing worldviews honestly and with the intention of exposing the consequences of rejecting the Bible."
