Jesuit Friend of Pope Francis Claims Bannon Fueled by Rushdoony
The great theonomic writer R.J. Rushdoony is under attack again. Breitbart.com reports that according to an article co-written by Jesuit Antonio Spadaro (said to be one of Pope Francis' closest aides),
U.S. evangelicals and Catholics have engaged in “an ecumenism of conflict” that seeks to advance “a theocratic type of state.”
The authors claim that Bannon’s views are fueled by ideas from Calvinist Pastor Rousas John Rushdoony, the father of so-called “Christian reconstructionism,” and assert that Rushdoony had a great influence on Bannon’s “theopolitical vision of Christian fundamentalism.”
In the sparsely documented essay, Spadaro makes no mention of where he came up with his odd theory that Bannon is a disciple of Pastor Rushdoony, a radical Calvinist who advocated the application of strict biblical law, including execution for adultery, blasphemy, homosexuality, witchcraft, and other sins.

Samoa Officially Becomes a Christian State (Theonomy Applied)
The June 16 article in The Diplomat, titled "Samoa Officially Becomes a Christian State" by Grant Wyeth, states,
In early June, the Samoan Parliament passed a bill amending the constitution to transform the country from a secular to a Christian state. The objective of the amendment was “to insert in the Constitution that Samoa is a Christian nation to declare the dominance of Christianity in Samoa.” ...
Samoa already had a reference to Christianity in the preamble to its Constitution, which declared that the Samoan government should conduct itself “within the limits prescribed by God’s commandments,” and that Samoan society is “based on Christian principles.” This kind of wording is common in the preambles of constitutions among Pacific Island states (the exception being Fiji).
Apparently, Samoa recognizes the failure and danger of a religiously pluralistic state. According to the article, a motivation for this appears to be out of fear of "religious wars":
Prime Minister Tuilaepa Malielegaoi sees ... “religious wars” currently playing out at a global level, and that these are leading to civil wars within countries. ...
Tuilaepa believes that it is now the government’s duty to legislate to avoid religious tensions. This line of thinking indicates that it is the secular state that provides the environment for religious tensions to ferment, and that a country which legally enshrines a religion will avoid creating these tensions.
Another motivation for the constitutional change, according to the article, is to protect the culture from other states pressuring it to promote such non-Christian ideas as homosexuality.

One important factor to note is that several groups in Samoa identify as Christians, including Protestants, Catholics, and Mormons. Hopefully Samoa will narrow the definition of Christian to historical orthodox Protestantism.

State Senator Lee Bright: Time "to make our stand" against Same-Sex "Marriage"
South Carolina State Senator Lee Bright recently said this to his fellow SC senators:
Members of the Senate, I heard our President sign a religious hymn and then Friday night I watched the White House be lit up in the abomination colors. It’s time. We’ve got Amazing Grace, we’ve got people in the stands here of faith. It’s time for the church to rise up. It’s time for the state of South Carolina to rise up. Romans chapter one is clear. The Bible is clear. This country was founded on Judeo Christian principles and they are under assault by the men in black robes who were not elected by you. We better make a stand. What I’d like to see is these folks that are working in the position of dealing with these marriage certificates not to have to betray their faith or have to compromise their faith in order to subject themselves to the tyranny of five judges. What we need to do is to debate this on the floor.
Our governor called us in to deal with the flag that sits out front. Let’s deal with the nation of sin that we face today. We talk about abortion but this gay marriage thing, I believe we will be one nation gone under. Like President Reagan said ‘If we’re not one nation under God, we will be one nation gone under.’ And to sanctify deviant behavior from five judges. It’s time for us to make our stand. It’s time to make our stand and we’re not doing it. We can rally together and talk about a flag all we want but the Devil is taking control of this land and we’re not stopping him. It’s time to make our stand. Let South Carolina discuss it. If the state’s got to get out of the business of marriage then let’s get out of the business of marriage because we cannot succumb to what’s to come of the future of this nation.
Now I believe that Christ teaches us to love the homosexual but He also teaches us to stand in the gap against sin and we need to make our stand. I know how people feel, of all colors, about this. I know that we need to respect our brother and love our brother but we cannot respect this sin in the state of South Carolina so I’m asking you to open up the signing dye and let’s deal with marriage. If we’re not going to find some way to push back against the Federal Government like our forefathers did or push back against a tyrannical government like the founders of this nation did, let’s at least not put these citizens of South Carolina in a position where they’ve got to choose between their faith and their jobs.

Roy Moore's Lawyer on Public Officials as Ministers of God, and their Duty to Oppose Sodomy
The following is a letter addressed to public officials from Win Johnson, an attorney who works for Roy Moore and director of Alabama's legal staff of the Administrative Office of Courts. It is an excellent call for all civil rulers to acknowledge the crown rights of Jesus Christ over all institutions in society — and to oppose the wicked ruling by the Supreme Court on same-sex "marriage" in particular.
Note that this was not sent per Moore's request, but by Johnson's own initiative. More about the letter can be read at AL.com, although the article is obviously written by someone hostile to Johnson and biblical civil law.

Time for Public Officials to take their stand one way or the other
Jesus Christ is Lord of all. He came to save the world by His death and resurrection. That world includes you, me, the family, the civil government, all the institutions of life. He came to advance His Father's kingdom, not watch man run rampant upon the earth as if Christ had never come. As if it were the days of Noah!
Public officials are ministers of God assigned the duty of punishing the wicked and protecting the righteous. If the public officials decide to officially approve of the acts of the wicked, they must logically not protect the righteous from the wicked. In fact, they must become protectors of the wicked. You cannot serve two masters; you must pick – God or Satan.
The criminal laws against homosexual sodomy are for the protection of the righteous, particularly the young, the weak, the vulnerable, who need the law to teach them right from wrong when in a vulnerable state. The U.S. Supreme Court, although it claims to have done so in 2003, cannot take something that God calls a crime and declare it not a crime.
We're facing something even worse now, the civil government taking a new step and actually requiring the approval and sanctifying by the state of an evil behavior. Five justices on the U.S. Supreme Court have now opined that the States of this country and all of us must approve of so-called marriages of same sex couples.
Therefore, the civil government must now become a persecuting power; you cannot avoid it. The civil government must protect what it approves of. It must protect the advocates' employment, their business dealings, their lives in every way. Against whom? Against those who think their lifestyle is evil. That's you and me, bible-believing Christians, the Church, etc.
Public official, what will you do? Will you stand up for the law of Alabama, for the people, for the weak and vulnerable, for the law of God? Or will you capitulate? Will you become complicit in the takeover by the wicked?
"I must follow the law," you say. Law? What law? There is no law anymore, there's just opinion. One day this, one day that. When the law becomes merely the opinion of a handful of people on the courts, there is no longer any law. There is tyranny. There is chaos. But there is no law.
The young and the weak, those that are caused to stumble by courts that approve of what is evil, are those whom Jesus referred to when he said, "It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones." Luke 17:2. You don't want to be complicit in allowing such stumbling blocks.
Don't use the Nazi war-crimes trial defense: "My superiors (or the courts) told me to do it." You're not standing for the rule of law when you capitulate to a law that defies God and exposes people to the wicked. You're just a coward making excuses!
Or will your conscience cause you to resign? Why would you leave the people of this State, their children, your children and grandchildren to the wolves, those who would rend the society apart with their denial of what's good and evil?
Your duty is to stand against the ravages of a superior authority that would go beyond its rightful power and force upon the people something evil. That's what the founders of our country did when Parliament exceeded its powers. That's what the Puritans in civil government in the 1600's did when the King exceeded his powers.
On Judgment Day, you won't stand in front of the media, the advocates of "Equality," or even the federal courts; you'll stand before the King of Kings, the Judge and Ruler over the Kings of the Earth, Jesus Christ. His law is not subject to the vote of man, and He, as the good and loving author of that law, does not exempt any nation from it. The law's author, speaking of Himself as "the stone which the builders rejected," said, "Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder." Luke 20:18.
What can you do? You have authority as an elected official. You also are sworn to uphold the U.S. Constitution and Alabama Constitution. Find a way to do so. Don't acquiesce to the takeover (actually the takedown)! Use your authority and every legal angle to oppose the tyrants! If necessary, just say, "No." It is not rebellion for you to say, "Your interpretation of the Constitution is wrong, beyond your authority, and detrimental to this nation." In fact, it's your duty. You're not opposing the rule of law, you're upholding it by saying that.

Pentagon: Christian Evangelism is Against Regulations

Pentagon: Religious Proselytizing is Not Permitted
Religious liberty groups have grave concerns after they
learned the Pentagon is vetting its guide on religious tolerance with a group
that compared Christian evangelism to “rape” and advocated that military
personnel who proselytize should be court martialed.
The Military Religious Freedom Foundation is calling on the
Air Force to enforce a regulation that they believe calls for the court martial
of any service member caught proselytizing.
President Mikey Weinstein and others from his organization met privately with Pentagon officials on April 23.
He said U.S.
troops who proselytize are guilty of sedition and treason and should be
punished – by the hundreds if necessary – to stave off what he called a “tidal
wave of fundamentalists.”
“Someone needs to be punished for this,” Weinstein told Fox
News. “Until the Air Force or Army or Navy or Marine Corps punishes a member of
the military for unconstitutional religious proselytizing and oppression, we
will never have the ability to stop this horrible, horrendous, dehumanizing
behavior.”

Ten Commandments judge returns: Roy Moore sworn in as Alabama's chief justice

MONTGOMERY, Alabama --- In a ceremony heavy on references to God and scripture, Roy Moore took the oath of office today as chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.
Moore was joined by many relatives and a number of classmates from the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, where he graduated in 1969.
An overflow crowd attended the investiture ceremony at the state judicial building to see Moore return to the office roughly nine years after he was removed for his refusal to follow a federal judge’s order to remove a Ten Commandments monument that Moore had placed in the state judicial building. Moore has said that order was wrong.

Now Many States want to Secede from U.S. (Drew Zahn)
Since WND first reported that residents in the state of Louisiana were petitioning to secede from the U.S., residents in over 20 more states have filed requests with the White House to peaceably break from the union.
Furthermore, the Louisiana petition has topped 14,000 signatures, more than halfway to the threshold needed after which the White House has pledged to respond.
And for Texas, one of the new states to join the fray, the signature count now tops 25,000 .
The White House’s We the People website explains that once a petition reaches 25,000 signatures, it will be placed on a queue for response from the administration. The website also maintains a page for previous petitions that have received a White House response .
Joining Louisiana now are Arizona, Oklahoma, Arkansas, South Carolina, Georgia, Missouri, Tennessee, Michigan, New York, Colorado, Oregon, New Jersey, North Dakota, Montana, Indiana, Mississippi, Kentucky, Florida, North Carolina, Alabama and Texas.

the Liberty Institute and the Family Research Council, highlighted more
than 600 examples illustrating what it characterized as religious
animosity shown by judges, government bureaucrats, schools and secular
groups. From ObamaCare mandates that force religious entities to pay for
contraception, to children being punished for uttering prayers in
school, the report's findings shocked even those who commissioned it.
